AVIAN INFLUENZA EMERGENCY PREPARATION COURSE FOR CANADA

February 21 – March 31, 2023

The online Avian Influenza Emergency Preparation Course for Canada course is now available for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and technologists as well as industry personnel who may provide support during the emergency.

Master the latest information, training and procedures in disease recognition and response in this cost-effective, Canadian context course. The self-paced course can be completed in just 12 hours over a five-week period from the comfort of home or office. Attached is the course overview.

The course is a partnership of the Animal Health Emergency Management (AHEM), the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and the Virtual Learning Centres, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture APHIS VS.

This program has been submitted (but is not yet approved) for 12 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.

COST: $180 Veterinarians and $130 CDN for registered veterinary technicians / technologists, Canadian Veterinary Reserve Members, veterinary students, and industry participants.

The Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) invites you to register for our first online continuing education (CE) series that’s geared for mixed animal veterinarians and other veterinary professionals. 

From January to March 2023, practitioners from all areas of practice — mixed animal as well as small animal and large animal — are welcome to join our speakers for a variety pack of CE sessions covering everything from bulls and honey bees to pet behaviour and equine parasites.

The CE sessions take place on selected Wednesday evenings from January to March 2023. Each 90-minute session will begin at 6:30 p.m. CST.
