A Clinical Associate position is available in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), University of Saskatchewan.

This position is within the equine ambulatory field service of the Veterinary Medical Centre. They will provide on-farm primary, preventative, and emergency care to local clients and be expected to supervise and instruct undergraduate veterinary students on rotations in their final year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, as well as Equine Practice interns and residents.

Applicants should have experience in equine ambulatory practice; our team provides mentorship for candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong potential. Teaching undergraduate veterinary students is a daily responsibility and provides an opportunity to mentor future veterinarians. The successful candidate may also contribute to other departmental teaching activities in Years 1-3 of the DVM program, including lectures, laboratories, and demonstrations.

At the time of appointment, the successful candidate must:
• Hold a DVM degree or equivalent
• Obtain an appropriate Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association license
• Secure a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
• Have an acceptable driving record as determined by the University of Saskatchewan

The Food Animal Field Service Veterinarian will work within a collaborative team, providing high-quality care to client-owned animals in their home environment. The role combines clinical excellence, teaching students, and an outstanding quality of life based on a 37.5-hour work week. The emergency and urgent care veterinarian has primary care responsibility; providing high-quality emergency and urgent care to small and exotic animals presenting to a veterinary teaching hospital. Primary Care & Preventative Medicine Veterinarian, Small Animal Clinical Sciences

The primary care and preventative medicine veterinarian incorporates evidence-based veterinary medicine to support a stable and diverse caseload that enhances clinical learning for veterinary students. This role focuses on guiding students as they build competence and confidence in essential elements of a competency-based veterinary education within a teaching hospital setting.

The Department of Veterinary Pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications from academically qualified veterinarians and others who are interested in pursuing graduate degrees in anatomic, clinical, poultry, or wildlife pathology. The department currently offers four degree programs, including a PhD, MSc (thesis), and two diagnostic training MSc with thesis or project. The certificate in advanced diagnostic pathology is a senior residency program that requires at least two full years of training at an ACVP recognized program.
