Please read the document below for complete information, and continue being diligent in recording and disposing of narcotics and controlled drugs. VetStore is an online ordering service for veterinary pharmaceuticals, pet foods and other veterinary products. Although VetStore is currently marketing itself throughout our province, this online ordering tool cannot be used for food or pharma delivery in Saskatchewan. Update on SK assistance with Ft Mac emergency response

Fort McMurray has been at the forefront of the media since the May 2016 wildfires, which still continue to burn in some parts of the western provinces . In one way or another all of us in the west have been affected by the ongoing wildfires. The animal rescue and emergency veterinary care for all the displaced animals was a huge undertaking. Coordination of relief efforts for Fort McMurray

The Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA) released a notice to all ABVMA members and practices regarding the Fort McMurray wildfires. Click here to read the full notice. To assist in the coordination of relief services for injured or displaced animals, the ABVMA is compiling a list of Alberta veterinary practices willing to offer medical care and/or boarding services that will be provided to the public, evacuation centres and other agencies. CVMA Animal Welfare Advocacy Position Statements

The Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) has released the following new position statements: Humane Mass Depopulation of Animals The CVMA holds that when mass depopulation of animals is undertaken, methods used must result in rapid death or rapid loss of consciousness that persist until the time of death. Loss of consciousness should be accomplished by methods that minimize anxiety, pain, distress or suffering in animals. Mass depopulation protocols must be developed under veterinary oversight.
