The Department of Veterinary Pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications from academically qualified veterinarians and others who are interested in pursuing graduate degrees in anatomic, clinical, poultry, or wildlife pathology. The department currently offers four degree programs, including a PhD, MSc (thesis), and two diagnostic training MSc with thesis or project. The certificate in advanced diagnostic pathology is a senior residency program that requires at least two full years of training at an ACVP recognized program.

The application period for MSc programs emphasizing diagnostic training opens on September 17, 2025, with a closing deadline of October 15, 2025. Applications must be complete, with all supporting documents received, by the deadline to be considered.
Applications to enter the PhD and MSc (thesis) programs are received on an ongoing basis. Applicants for these latter programs should have identified a research supervisor prior to initiating the application process. Personal financial support, beginning at approximately $23,000 – $40,000 per year, is available on a competitive basis.
