Permanent position for a full time veterinarian with BorderVET Animal Health Services, a mixed animal practice located in Carnduff, Saskatchewan with a satellite clinic in Melita, Manitoba. Computerized practice fully equipped including Vetscan and CBC lab, dental unit with digital radiology, and digital radiology for equine and small animals, and ultrasound. Large animal facilities including tip table. Paid association fees and CE allowance. Shared on-call with after hours fees. Holidays and salary negotiable, starting salary $58.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. English language position. Degree in veterinary medicine and registration with CVMA and SVMA/MVMA required.
Clinic hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. On-call sharing. Practice focus is mixed approximately 50% bovine/equine, and 50% small animal. Responsibilities: Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests. Treat sick or injured animals by diagnosing, prescribing medication, or performing surgery. Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases. Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals. Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations. Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics and dentistry.
Carnduff is in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan approximately an hour east of Estevan. Melita is located in the southwest corner of Manitoba, approximately 1 hour from Brandon. The area has an agricultural background rooted in cow/calf ranching and grain farming supplemented by the oilfield industry.
