WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre

The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) seeks local veterinarians to provide temporary coverage of its small animal emergency services in August 2026.

Thanks to amazing support from Saskatchewan’s veterinary community, the VMC filled all open shifts in the small animal emergency service during July. But the veterinary teaching hospital is still facing a significant veterinary shortage in its emergency service for August 2026.

Once again, the VMC is asking for assistance from Saskatchewan veterinarians to help fill this serious gap and retain this vital 24/7 ER service.

– Payment for temporary coverage: $100 per hour
– Focus is on daytime shifts (12 noon to 10 p.m.) in VMC Small Animal Clinic (emergency services) but the VMC is willing to discuss other time ranges for shifts.
– Open to all veterinarians who are currently licensed to practise in Saskatchewan and in good standing with the SVMA.
– Positions are well supported by RVTs, veterinary specialists and hospital support staff.
– No on-call services required. All patient care will be transferred to another clinician at the end of shift.
