Head for the Hills Veterinary Health Services is looking to add a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist to our team!
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in the treatment and care of animals, assisting veterinarians, and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Head for the Hills offers services to three locations; Carlyle, Redvers, and Kipling. We provide a wide range of modern diagnostics (digital radiography, ultrasound, cbc,and chemistry), cattle management facilities, tip table, and equine stocks. Unique services offered by Head for the Hills include creating bull A.I. straws for on farm use and operating a small animal crematorium. Located near Moose Mountain Provincial Park, the area has year round activities such as ice skating, cross country skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, music and youth camps and accommodations such as camping and air b and b rentals.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide skilled technical support to our veterinarians during appointments, procedures, and surgeries
● Understanding, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia
● Perform nursing care, treatments, diagnostics, and laboratory tasks
● Producing radiographs
● Assisting with routine dental cleanings, scaling, polishing, as well as taking dental radiographs
● Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
● Effectively communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person in a compassionate and professional manner
○ Educate owners on patient care, treatments, and medications
● Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture Qualifications & Skills
● Registered Veterinary Technologist
● Valid drivers license
