Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 3-year term, full time Lecturer position in Elective Surgery in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.
Working closely with a second, experienced veterinarian, approximately 50% of the appointment will be devoted to coordinating and supervising elective surgical procedures for Year 4 undergraduate veterinary students. An additional 25% of the appointment will involve the development and supervision of instructional exercises and laboratories in Years 1 to 3 of the curriculum, with a focus on preparing students for live-animal surgical experiences. The remaining 25% of the appointment will be dedicated to participation in the Major Surgery service of the Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC), including shared responsibility after-hours on-call service. Applicants must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) and be eligible for a General License to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring veterinary students for success in clinical practice, particularly in primary and elective surgery.
This position is within the scope of the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association. The salary band for this position for the 2026-2027 academic year is $95,187 to $139,203 and is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
