How do I change my name on my license/registration?
You cannot change your own name on your license/registration. Please scan (in color) and email svma@svma.sk.ca the following documents and the SVMA staff will review and change your name.
- updated driver’s license or passport
- government (or court) issued documentation proving name change (i.e. marriage certificate, divorce certificate)

How do I request a letter of standing?
Letters of Standing are only issued directly to the regulatory jurisdiction that requires the document. The SVMA does not issue letters of standing to individuals.
Please use this link to request the letter of standing. https://form.jotform.com/221516120084039
SVMA staff will review and process the letters of standing and send them electronically to their destination. If a jurisdiction requires a paper copy, that will be mailed, after the electronic copy is sent.
Please note: If you are applying for a specialty/board certification, some do require a letter of standing.
How do I add my name to the locum/relief list? How can a SVMA practice obtain the list?
If you are a veterinarian or a veterinary technologist that is licensed/registered to practise in SK, you can be added to the locum/relief list.
People who add themselves to this list are not required to work if they are contacted by a practice. The list provides options for practices to seek short-term assistance and vets/techs to put their skills to use at their schedule.

This list is provided to practices upon request. To request the list, please email inspect@svma.sk.ca
